Q: What should I bring?
For an overnight stay, simply bring your pyjamas and some breakfast! We provide soft, quality bed linen and towels, as well as tea, coffee and milk. If you haven’t ordered catering from us for your stay, see our details further down on self-catering.
Q: Is there room for full-size suitcases?
Yes, we are able to stow these on the catamaran for you – there’s plenty of room.
Q: Is it safe on the harbour?
Completely, and we have a perfect, 100% safety record to prove it! For such an incredible city location, staying out on the harbour is surprisingly peaceful and quiet, too.
Q: Can I swim in the harbour?
Absolutely! There’s some amazing spots for a swim in our harbour. Tucked away or fully exposed to the sunshine, we can show you our favourite swimming spots, and we provide a ‘lilypad’ to stretch out on, stand-up paddleboards to try as well as lots of pool noodles to keep you floating.
Q: Is the boat family friendly?
For sure. In fact, we encourage kids of any age to come aboard. It’s so perfect for families to be able to see all of Sydney’s sights from the water, without having to move the kids around in the city. And it’s an unforgettable experience to spend the night in the heart of the harbour together; the sleeping quarters below deck are ideal for little ones.
Q: How many people can fit onboard?
Due to CoVID-19, the Australian government has now restricted sea-vessels to lower capacities. PERFECT DAY can survey 16 people until restrictions lift. As for overnight, we take groups or families up to six people.
Q: Will we see the main sights?
Yes! Your Captain Glen – can’t wait to take you wherever you want to go! The Sydney Opera House, Circular Quay, Darling Harbour, King Street Wharf… and there’s nothing like sailing beneath massive Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Q: Do people ever get seasick?
The twin hulls of a catamaran makes it one of the most stable vessels on the water. However, every person is different. We recommend taking Kwells medication 30 minutes before departure, depending on individual requirements.
Q: Can we bring our own food and drinks?
Yes you can! We supply disposable and non-disposable cups, plates, cutlery, platters and BBQ gear onboard for your convenience, so there is a small BYO fee applicable if you choose to self-cater. If you choose to bring your own, remember to bring ice for our Esky to keep your food cool and fresh.
Q: Will I drive the boat?
All catamaran hire packages include our owner and captain, Glen Davis, expertly steering you where you’d like to go.
If you’d like to try your hand at steering for a moment or two, Glen is happy to show you a few tips. It all depends on the weather conditions and whether you’ve consumed alcohol. As with any professional marine captain, safety is always the first concern. As for overnight stays, the boat is safely moored with the engine off, with no need for you to drive the boat at all.
Q: Where is the boat moored for our overnight stay?
We use a beautifully situated mooring in Little Sirius Cove.
